Day 20 - Someone you see yourself marrying/being with in the future

{Day 20 Someone you see yourself marrying/being with in the future}

Well as mentioned before I've got some someone super special next to me right now....and we have grown real close and I don't intend on letting him go anytime soon.

There has been a lot of what we may think are coincidences but its not that, its something from a higher source!

Honestly, I have never been this happy in a LONG time. Now, true, I have had great times and thank God for all my friends and my wonderful girlfriends that have kept a smile on my face, but this man right here...keeps me smilin! We have ALOT in common, have alot of the same beliefs, share the same values, and most importantly, we are intertwined spiritually. So important!

So..the challenge was posting about someone I see myself marrying, or being with in the future...stay tuned for future testimonies!

Thank you for being you!

Day #17 - Someone you would want to switch lives with for one day and why

{Day 17 Someone you would want to switch lives with for one day and why}

I guess if I had to choose someone to switch lives with someone for one day it would have to be Miss Oprah!

Many don't care for her too much, but I think that many more LOVE her. I am one of those. Not to mention she is one of the most wealthiest in the world, but I would love to have access to her monies for a day! I would love to see how it feels to give money to those in need. Donating to my community, giving children what they need to function in schools, fund school programs to help kids stay out the streets. I would love to rub elbows with some of her favorite people, Michelle Obama, Obama, Tom Cruise, Maya Angelou, Rachel Ray, Dr. Phil to name a few.

Day 13 - A letter to someone who has hurt you recently

{Day 13 A letter to someone who has hurt you recently}

OK.
I have been on a small hiatus for this challenge and I am going to do my best to catch up today, by posting multiple challenges. One reason I have gotten off track is becuase I took a quick trip to Ensenada on a Girls Get Away cruise. Second reason I have not been on here to post could be because I was avoiding this challenge. I guess its time to do it and move on!

Here, we go...

A letter to my past.

I have been challenged to write a letter to someone who has hurt me recently. Becuase of the pain that I have experienced the past 2 years, I have built this huge wall which has help assisted on blocking any future hurts and pains. I have not had anyone hurt me as bad as you have. Of course, if someone asked you, you may sit and say the same thing which is to be expected.

I have attempted to make peace with you in many ways, but I think due to the bitterness and the twisted feelings that we have for one another another it is difficult to find peace and be at peace with what has occured. Even though I am a better woman today than I was 2 years ago, I still hurt at night knowing that half of my life was on unsteady ground, built on quicksand. Granted, there were many good times and most def had our share of bad times. There was a point in time where the bad begin to outweigh the good. We were young when we got married, and as we know it now, I think it is safe to say we both were comfortable and no one was ready or had the guts to make the first step to say, it can't go on like this.

I keep erasing what is really on my mind, because I do have to keep in mind that this is a public forum and as I should not really care what you may think about what I have to say, you are still human and Gods child.

We both know what went down so because this letter is to YOU, you already know whats up. HOWEVER, the best part that has come out of this is my beautiful daughter, and I would not trade her for the world..not at all! Another great thing that has come out of this all is the fact that I have been able to take a look back and realize where I failed as a wife, what I could had done better to save my marriage. I can proudly say that I can admit to myself that I acknowledge my faults. Whether or not you want to believe it or not, I do accept what I lacked. You know that when we married we married young...didn't really know what being married was all about. Who did we really have in our corner to talk about marriage to?

Because of all this that has occured, I am a better woman and will most deifnately become a better wife to the next man. Because please trust, I am wifey material.. =) One thing that lacked in our marriage was our love for God. God was NOT in our marriage where he should had been, we both lacked faith, and without that, we were doomed from the gate.

Only time and prayer is a healer of all wounds. Only time and prayer. God has my back and as long as you are on the right track with him my friend, he will have yours.

So I had to figure it out and try one for myself to see what the big hoopla was about Blogging! Again, this is only a test...I have to see what this is all about and if I like, I will stay! She is the reason that I wake up! Because of her I have continued to push harder and harder each day. I live for her, she is my strength! Being a parent is a blessing and has allowed me to look things through a deeper source.

Heavenly Father I THANK YOU for allowing me to be a mother! You have taught me so much, so many lessons and she is such a blessing to my life.

Day #6 - Favorite super hero and why

{Day 06 Favorite super hero and why}

Stumbled across this poem "SuperHero" thought it was pretty cool and thought I would share with ya!

"If I could be a superhero
I would be... Awesome {wo}Man
I’d fly around the world fighting crime
According to my awesome plan
And if I saw criminals trying to lie
Hurting other people and making them cry
I'd haul them off to jail in my awesome van
'Cause I would be Awesome {wo}Man"
— Stephen Lynch, "Superhero

The challenge was to post a pic of my favorite superhero...well if I'm not too much of a comic strip fan or into superheros. My ultimate superhero would be the almighty father himself! However, if I had to choose one, I would choose my favorite childhood here, which was WonderWoman!

I have got to ask my mom to dig the pic of me and my WonderWoman outfit on when I was kid. Well, let me stop lyin, it wasn't really even an outfit, but more like under-roos! I will find it and post it...it will make you giggle, I still giggle today. I remember having my patent leather shoes on.....on the wrong feet! Good times.

I am blessed to have been able to bring my baby girl along with me as well. She had a blast with every island we visited while on the cruise.

Day #4 - A habit that you wish you didn't have

{Day 04 A habit that you wish you didn't have}

This wasn't too hard to answer....
Okay...confession time I guess. Okay, well I have a horrible habit of patting my head to itch my scalp...ok, ok, BEAT my head. Only those that do it, will be able to relate. It is almost equivalent to a vigorous scalp scrub at the shop...feels SOOOO good!!!

I can recall a scrapbook retreat I was at and I tried to do this very softly, as softly as possible and my other sistahs who didn't have weaves thought they were gonna have to call 9-1-1!
They started busting up and just didn't quite know what to think..., talkin about, "Trish are you ok!?"

I am trying to not do it as much because Bre seems to think she has to do it now...and I think she does it to copy me instead of a necessity...lol.

So there you have it...I beat my scalp....

Day #2 - The Meaning Behind Your Blogger Name

{Day 02 The meaning behind your Blogger name}

Supahwoman - Well it is WHUT it is....exactly that. I am a supahwoman! I am many things! Many people! and wear MANY HATS! Since the fall of my marriage, I quickly saw how challenging it was to be a superwoman! HOWEVER, I have gladly put on my cape, my crime fighting boots and by headband and I am ready!

I thought of Supahwoman because there are many times where all I had was ME. If I want somethin done, I gotta get it done, regardless of how it gets done or what I gotta do, it has to get done. Only a supahwoman can juggle 100 things at once and still claim her sanity. Alot of friends of mine tell me to slow down and proceed to tell me I am doin too much...but is there such thing when you are Supahwoman!? Nope...so I continue to wear my cape and wear it proud!

I GOT THE "S" ON MY CHEST!

I have RELAPSED!!!

Shaking my head at myself...yes indeed..
If you are one of my readers, you may have remembered when I last posted of my obsession of collecting magazines, well hoarding magazines. At the end of my post I think I mentioned about being better at it in 2011. Well based off of this current photo, I just took today...the obsession has become slightly worse and out of hand.

Like Sasha said last year, if you come to your girls house, you can't say I couldn't offer you no good reads!! LOL...

Okay, I Tricia, promise NOT to buy another magazine until I can at least get rid of half of this stash...I know its stupid ridiculous.

My favs:
O
Essence
Sister to Sister
Upscale
Creating Keepsakes
Black Woman
Vibe
Better Homes & Gardens
Scrapbooks Etc.

Revisit last years post and last years photo...which has nothin on what is goin on today!

This Stinks!

Ok, it has truly been awhile since I have been this sick! This makes absolutely no sense!

It started about 2 weeks ago I guess, Bre caught the wonderful Pink Eye, and on top of that had a few cold symptoms.

Well about 2 days after I took her in, my symptoms began to come and visit as well as mom and then dad! None of us (mom, dad or myself) got Pink Eye, but we got horrible colds.

Last Friday, was my absolute worst. By the end of the night I looked like I had a run in with Ike Turner, bloody nose, swollen face, etc. Next morning I made an appointment in urgent care which is when I discovered I had my first ever sinus infection. Not the business. So I walked away with 4 prescriptions...Amoxicillan (Antibiotics), Prednisone (steroids), an inhaler and eye freakin drops! Not cool...

Since then I have had okay days, but at night its the pits. No sleep. Cough attacks that would last about 2 hours...by the time I get good sleep has typically be running between the hours of 3-5am...then of course the alarm is about to buzz. So yeah, I am slightly irritated. Bre WAS getting better BUT since the 3 of us were sick...she is now sick again and its back with a vengeance on my little princess. She has missed school again this week..and you know a sista still has to pay tuition whether she is there or not...argh!

Anyhow, pray for our health and that we all get better. This is NOT the business!!!!

The Love Dare...

**Borrowed from someone very special to me, here is an excerpt from this book I can't wait to read. Those who are married may find this book helpful. Have you watched the movie Fireproof? Wonderful movie, which is featured in the storyline of Fireproof. Check both out if you can should be beneficial. Just reading this excerpt alone gave me an unwanted reality check.**

Love is Unconditional
God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ dies for us. – Romans 5:8

If someone were to ask you, “Why do you love your wife?” or “Why do you love your husband?” – what would you say?

Most men would mention their wife’s beauty, her sense of humor, her kindness, her inner strength. They might talk about her cooking, her knack for decorating, or what a good mother she is.

Women would probably say something about their husband’s good looks or his personality. They’d commend him for his steadiness and consistent character. They’d say they love him because he’s always there for them. He’s generous. He’s helpful.

But what if over the course of years, your wife or husband stopped being every one of those things. Would you still love them? Based on your answers above, the only logical response would be “no.” If your reasons for loving your spouse all have something to do with his or her qualities – and then those same qualities suddenly or gradually disappear – your basis for love is over.

The only way love can last a lifetime is if it’s unconditional. The truth is this: love is not determined by the one being loved but rather by the one choosing to love.

The Bible refers to this kind of love by using the Greek word agape (pronounced uh-GOP-ay).

It differs from the other types of love, which are – phileo (friendship) and eros (sexual love). Both friendship and sex have an important place in marriage, of course, and are definitely part of the house you build together as husband and wife. But if your marriage totally depends on having common interests or enjoying a healthy sex life, then the foundation of your relationship is unstable.

Phileo and eros are more responsive in nature and can fluctuate based upon feelings. Agape love, on the other hand, is selfless and unconditional. So unless this kind of love forms the foundation of your marriage, the wear and tear of time will destroy it. Agape love is in “sickness and health” love, “for richer or poorer” love, “for better or worse” love. It is the only kind of love that is true love.

That’s because this is God’s kind of love. He doesn’t love use because we are lovable but because He is so loving. The Bible says, “In this love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins” (1 John 4:10). If He insisted that we prove ourselves worthy of His love, we would fail miserably. But God’s love is a choice He makes completely on His own. It’s something we receive from Him and then share with others. “We love, because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19).

If a man says to his wife, “I have fallen out of love with you,” he is actually saying, “I never loved you unconditionally to begin with.” His love was based on feelings or circumstances rather than commitment. That’s the result of building a marriage on phileo or eros love. There must be a stronger foundation than mere friendship or sexual attraction. Unconditional love, agape love, will not be swayed by time or circumstance.

That’s not to say, though, that love which began for the wrong reasons cannot be restored and redeemed. In fact, when you rebuild your marriage with agape as its foundation, then the friendship and romantic aspects of your love become more endearing than ever before. When your enjoyment of each other as best friends and lovers is based on unwavering commitment, you will experience an intimacy that cannot be achieved any other way.

But you will struggle and fail to attain this kind of marriage unless you allow God to begin growing His love within you. Love that “bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things” (1 Corinthians 13:7) does not come from within. It can only come from God.

The Scriptures say that “neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39). This is God’s kind of love. And thankfully – by your choice – it can become your kind of love. But first you must receive it and share it.

And don’t be surprised, when your spouse begins living confidently under its shade, if he or she doesn’t become even more lovable to you than you remember. You will no longer say, “I love you because …” You will now say, “I love you, period.”
